Our Philosophy
Welcome to Kidspire Preschool! Here at Kidspire we are explorers, global citizens, and our philosophy is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. We believe every child around the world is equally valuable and competent. Our curriculum is play-based, adaptive and driven by the children’s questions. We combine key areas of learning (literacy, numeracy, science, art, music, large motor) with global citizenship based curriculum. Making connections with our local community and communities around the world are very important to us. We aim to provide a space where the child is central in their own learning through creative thinking and curiosity. All while having lots of fun!
01.
Great teachers
We have a great team of teachers working together to provide a caring and nurturing environment where children have the opportunity explore, grow, and thrive.
02.
organic meals
We serve all organic foods and prepare the meals on-site. Our organic garden provides blueberries, strawberries, zucchini, snap peas, tomatoes, and pumpkin. Yum!
03.
creative play
We believe children learn best through guided play, exploration of environment, and problem-solving. Our teachers are active alongside learners and build meaningful learning experiences.
04.
Fantastic ratios
We have 3 full time teachers and an on-site substitute providing care for 16 kids, age 2-5.

Meet Our Teachers
Vivian
Hello everyone! Vivian here.
I graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Psychology & a minor in Criminology. I love working with kids because they are constantly learning and also teaching me at the same time. They are so full of surprises and so fun to be around! I love everything that Kidspire stands for and am proud to be a part of the team.
RACHAEL
Hi, I’m Rachael!
I graduated from Texas Women’s University with a degree in History. I have 14 years of experience in childcare and was most recently the Lead Pre-K Teacher at a school in Texas before re-locating to the Pacific Northwest. I’m married. Love reading and watching movies. And am so glad to be part of the Kidspire Preschool community.
Laura
Hey there! I’m Laura, Director of Kidspire Preschool and on-site substitute teacher.
I earned my Masters from Roberts Wesleyan in New York and have been with Kidspire since 2001 as Director of Social Work. I have more than 20 years of experience working with children. In my free time I enjoy hiking, traveling and eating lots of ice cream!
Luna
Hi, I’m Luna!
Sometimes the kids call me Hedgie. When I’m not sleeping during the day I love to play in my tube tunnel and climb up the walls of my cage! The kiddos are very gentle with me and give me lots of snuggles.
